Residential services assist individuals to live as independently as possible in the residential setting of their choice. Also based on individual preference and needs, Twin Rivers provides a wide range of training, leisure and support to foster and maintain a healthy, safe and enriching home life.
Supports are provided in the consumer’s own apartment or home and are based upon needed supports as indicated in the person centered service plan.
Provides ongoing and immediate assistance. Staff are always present at the home and will assist with daily living skills as indicated in the person centered service plan. The home may be shared with 3 to 4 other individuals.
Below are two of the group homes owned by Twin Rivers Developmental Supports, Inc.
Twin Rivers has built five new homes that are fully ADA accessible, with fire sprinkler systems and tornado shelters. Twin Rivers also owns five other group homes that have been remodeled to be handicapped accessible and a remodeled apartment complex with four 2 bedroom apartments. These homes are in town, edge of town and in the country giving individual’s choices to meet their desires and needs. Three of these homes are in Winfield, one in Parkerfield, the rest are located in Arkansas City. Each home provides individuals their own personal space and privacy.
Twin Rivers also offers organizations for those who are interested. The Imagine Club is open to all individuals who receive supports from Twin Rivers. It is a self-advocate group with 42 members. The Imagine Club participates in the Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive and bell ringing for the Salvation Army at Christmas. The Imagine Club also donates money to several area charities. The Imagine Club meets every other month and has annual Holiday parties such as the Valentine’s Dance where a King and Queen are chosen.
